The computer history between 1990 and 1994 at TNO-FEL was characterised by the use of (mini)supercomputers with vector processing and the decentralisation of the computing facilities:

• ETA and CONVEX: between -40 C and +40 C
• Computer families at TNO-FEL
• Data communication developments
• Graphical, ECAE and MCAD systems
• The DEC systems
• The xxplosive use of workstations and PCs
• Distributed Interactive Simulations
